Jan 25: Alabama-Coushatta Pow-wow

If you are looking for a family outing for Saturday, Jan. 25, the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Tribe of Texas is hosting its 16th Annual Children’s Pow Wow.

Dancers and vendors will register and set up around 9 a.m. followed by gourd dancing at 11 a.m. and a grand entry competition dancing at noon.

The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre along with the Nine Flags Festival will present "A Christmas Classic" by the Fredonia Players at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Dec. 5 and 6, and at 2 and 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House.

Ed Miller, hailed as "one of the finest singers to come out of the Scottish Folksong Revival" and as "one of Scotland's best singing exports," is coming to Camp St. in Crockett, TX on November 16.

Ed is originally from Edinburgh, but has lived in Austin, TX for many years. He plays concerts, festivals, Highland Games, Burns Suppers and presents lectures and workshops across the US and Scotland.
