Step back in time, with a 50s style celebration at the Sterne-Hoya House Museum and Library.
It's a veritable vintage feast of delight with deco ornaments, mod Christmas trees and lights and greenery galore.
Celebrate the museum's history as the Public Library formerly known as the Hoya Memorial Library from 1958 until the late 1970s.
The library collection was moved to a new location in the late 1970s. The current building was restored and reopened in the 1980s as Sterne-Hoya House Museum and Library.
Today the museum depicts the two families that owned the property as well as the buildings time as the public library.
A Christmas story and craft time will be held December 13th and 20th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Children of all ages are invited to make a small craft to take home with them, eat sugar cookies and listen to a Christmas story time at 4:00 p.m. A different book and craft will be offered every Friday.
This Christmas event is a collaborative effort between the City of Nacogdoches Historic Sites Department and the Judy B. McDonald Public Library. Mercedes Franks, Director of the Judy B. McDonald Public Library says they are ready for and excited about the event. "We are very excited to be a part of this Christmas celebration. We hope that many families will come and discover the history that we have right here in our downtown."
